We’ve embraced it on my team. In the Midwest, the diverse talent pool isn’t as deep as in larger markets, so we have to try harder. A silver lining of COVID is that folks have felt like they can move to a non-major city (not New York, the Bay Area, etc.) and still have a great career. As a team, we’ll be 30% BIPOC as of this summer, and are currently 40% female.
