What are active ETFs?
Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are investment vehicles that bundle securities to present diverse investment strategies.
When an ETF is managed by portfolio managers who actively make investment choices, it’s an active ETF. Unlike passive ETFs, which aim to track the performance of a specific index, active ones target to outperform a benchmark index or achieve specific investment objectives.
Like other ETFs, active ETFs are cost effective, usually transparent with their holdings and can be traded throughout the day on an exchange, like a stock. They may also facilitate easier access to international investments.
These attributes are contributing to the growing popularity of active ETFs worldwide.
