Anton Pil
Global Head of Alternatives
Anton Pil, managing director, is Global Head of Alternatives at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Anton leads the 600+ professional group with over $150 billion in alternative assets under management across real estate, real assets, private equity, private credit, hedge funds, and liquid alternatives.
Anton has held a variety of leadership roles at J.P. Morgan over the last two decades. He was previously head of the Private Bank’s Global Investment Opportunities Group (GIO), a niche group working with some of the firm’s most sophisticated clients interested in opportunistic absolute return investing across public and private markets.
Prior to becoming Head of GIO in 2008, Pil was Head of Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities for Wealth Management, where he was responsible for investment ideas and the development of portfolio management, brokerage and funds. He also led the development and expansion of the Private Bank’s real estate lending business. Prior to this, he was head trader for Investment Management’s Global Fixed Income group and has managed European equity, emerging market debt and global high yield funds.
Anton began his career at J.P. Morgan in Asset Management’s Capital Markets Research team, where he specialized in modeling public and private real estate mortgages and providing complex fixed income securities analytics.
Anton holds B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Control Theory, from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
