Index-like precision with active DNA

JPM Research Enhanced Index (REI) Equity Active UCITS ETFs are actively managed equity ETFs that seek to outperform a market index over time while maintaining an index-like risk profile.

• Small stock-level overweights and underweights are taken based on fundamental research.
• Regional, sector and style exposures are kept in line with the benchmark so the ETF “looks and feels” like the index.
• The result is a low tracking error, core equity ETF approach with the ability to deliver outperformance over a three- to five-year period.

“Enhanced index” means keeping benchmark-like exposures while adding small active stock positions to seek incremental excess returns, rather than simply replicating the index.

• Passive ETFs aim to track the index; JPM Research Enhanced Index Equity Active UCITS ETFs seeks excess returns while maintaining index-like risk characteristics.
• REI keeps regional/sector/style exposures aligned to the benchmark, and expresses active views mainly through stock selection.
• REI uses diversified small active positions (not a few concentrated active bets).
• The process focuses on minimizing unrewarded market, sector and style risks while emphasising stock-specific insights.

JPM Research Enhanced Index Equity Active UCITS ETFs are built to remain close to their benchmarks, with active risk (tracking error) and active deviations managed within predefined ranges that vary by ETF and benchmark.

• Tracking error (active risk) is targeted within a defined band (for each REI strategy), supporting an index-like risk profile.
• Active deviations versus the benchmark are constrained at the country, sector and individual stock level (limits vary by REI strategy).
• Portfolios are typically broadly diversified, often with hundreds of holdings (depending on the REI strategy and benchmark).
• Active views are generally expressed through many small stock-level overweights/underweights, rather than a small number of concentrated bets.

Yes - REI ETFs are intended as core equity building blocks, combining broad market exposure with the potential for incremental outperformance versus a passive index approach.

• Enhancing a core allocation by adding an active ETF with potential incremental outperformance of the index.
• Using developed- and emerging-market exposures as modular building blocks.
• Adding issuer diversification within a core ETF allocation.
• Keeping benchmark-like characteristics while taking controlled stock-selection positions.

• Portfolio managers translate the research signal into hundreds of small active positions, rather than concentrated bets.
