Christopher Dawe

Managing Partner

Christopher is the Managing Partner for Growth Equity Partners and leads the investment team. Christopher has spent almost two decades focusing on Series B through pre-IPO investments across the consumer, enterprise software and financial technology sectors and has invested more than $3B in venture capital and growth equity transactions. He was previously Co-Head of the Goldman Sachs Investment Partners Growth Equity team and also worked within Goldman Sachs Principal Strategies, a proprietary investing arm within the firm. Christopher has held multiple board positions in his 17 years as a private equity investor and brings an established ability to help drive consensus and maintain focus within portfolio companies as they reach pivotal decision points in their growth trajectories. Christopher holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Luke Sikora

Partner

Luke is a Partner at Growth Equity Partners and leads the west coast office. He focuses on investments in software, fintech, real estate tech and consumer internet companies. Luke has spent the last 13 years as a venture capital and growth equity investor. He joins from Vulcan Capital, where he spent the past eight years as part of the Palo Alto based growth fund which invests $10M to $100M into rapidly growing, private technology companies on a global basis. Prior to joining Vulcan Capital, Luke worked in the Menlo Park Office of Battery Ventures, where he focused on growth equity and buyout investments in the software and internet space. Previously, he worked as an Associate at Pagemill Partners, where he advised technology companies on a wide range of financial and strategic matters including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity offerings, and leveraged buyouts. Before joining Pagemill, Luke worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a consultant in the business advisory services and assurance group. Luke holds a B.S. in Corporate Finance and a B.S. in Accounting Information Systems from the University of Southern California.

Patrick McGoldrick

Managing Partner, J.P. Morgan Private Capital

Patrick is the Managing Partner for J.P. Morgan Private Capital and a Partner for Growth Equity Partners. In his capacity as Managing Partner, Patrick leads J.P. Morgan Private Capital, building and scaling new investment offerings, overseeing fundraising and LP engagement, aiding in value creation for companies across investment teams and driving strategic growth for the division. In addition, Patrick is a member of the Investment Committee of the biotech strategy, as well as the Alternatives Operating Committee for J.P. Morgan Asset Management. As a Partner for Growth Equity Partners, Patrick helps lead growth investments in software, fintech, real estate tech and consumer internet companies. Prior to founding J.P. Morgan Private Capital, he served as the Global Head of a private investment division within the J.P. Morgan Private Bank, with a particular focus on direct and co-investment opportunities in private companies. Before this, Patrick was a founding member of the J.P. Morgan Investment Bank on the Private Capital Markets team in San Francisco, where he was involved in all phases of private finance, including origination, structuring, pricing and distribution with an emphasis on growth equity and PIPE financings across a wide range of industries. Patrick received his B.S. from Bentley University where he graduated with distinction, with a double major in Finance and Global Perspectives and a minor in Marketing.

Ali Smith

Principal

Ali is a Principal on the investment team for Growth Equity Partners. Her responsibilities include deal execution, due diligence, and portfolio support. Prior to joining Growth Equity Partners, Ali was an Associate at 137 Ventures where she invested in growth-stage companies. She primarily focused on consumer internet, enterprise software, fintech, and digital health. Previously, Ali was a member of J.P. Morgan’s Investment Bank on the Private Capital Markets team in San Francisco, working with private growth stage companies in technology, consumer, and healthcare sectors. Ali graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. from Drake University, double majoring in Finance and International Business. Ali was also captain of the Drake Women’s Soccer Team where she was a Division I Academic All American First Team selection and named Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year in her senior season.

Kareem Dakak

Senior Associate

Kareem is a Senior Associate on the investment team for Growth Equity Partners. His responsibilities include deal execution, due diligence, and portfolio support. Prior to joining Growth Equity Partners, Kareem was a Corporate Development Analyst at Google where he primarily focused on cloud applications, advertising, and payments. Previously, Kareem was a Credit Analyst at KKR in San Francisco where he conducted diligence on opportunities across industrials, lodging and leisure, and other sectors. Kareem holds a B.A. in Economics from The University of California, Los Angeles.

Jonathan Zuckerman

Senior Associate

Jonathan is a Senior Associate on the investment team for Growth Equity Partners. His responsibilities include deal execution, due diligence, and portfolio support. Prior to joining Growth Equity Partners, Jonathan was an Investment Banking Associate in Houlihan Lokey’s Technology, Media, and Telecom group where he advised enterprise software and fintech companies on M&A and private placements. Previously, Jonathan was an Investment Banking Senior Analyst at AGC Partners where he held a similar role, advising cybersecurity and fintech companies on M&A and private placements. Jonathan holds a B.S.B.A in Finance and minor in International Business from The Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis.

Elyse Adamo

Senior Associate

Elyse is a Senior Associate on the investment team for Growth Equity Partners. Her responsibilities include deal execution, due diligence, and portfolio support. Prior to joining Growth Equity Partners, Elyse was a member of the Private Investments team within the J.P. Morgan Private Bank, focusing on direct and co-investment opportunities in private companies, along with thematic fund investment opportunities. She worked on transactions across industries with a particular focus on consumer internet, enterprise software and real estate. Elyse holds a B.B.A from The Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

Colette Summers

Senior Associate

Colette is a Senior Associate on the investment team for Growth Equity Partners. Her responsibilities include deal execution, due diligence, and portfolio support. Prior to joining Growth Equity Partners, Colette was a Strategic Finance Associate at Sonder where she primarily focused on fundraising, financial forecasting and corporate strategy. Previously, Colette was an Investment Banking Analyst at Goldman Sachs in Seattle, where she advised companies across industries with a particular focus on consumer internet, enterprise software and consumer retail. Colette holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University in Canada.

Richard Smith

Chairman

Richard is the Chairman of J.P. Morgan Private Capital. As part of the Global Alternatives division in J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Private Capital provides equity and debt solutions to private companies. From 2014 to early 2021, Richard was Head of Private Investments at JPMorgan Chase & Co., overseeing the firm’s multibillion-dollar portfolio of balance sheet investments in companies, with approximately 70 new investments made during his tenure. In 2002, Richard joined One Equity Partners, the former investing arm of BankOne and subsequently JPMorgan Chase & Co., after 21 years of independent private equity investing, most recently at Allegra Partners. From 1979 to 1981, Richard was Senior Investment Manager at Citicorp Venture Capital, Ltd. From 1974 to 1979, Richard worked in the International Money Management Group of Morgan Guaranty Trust. Over the years, Richard has been Chairman of five companies and a director at 35 public and private companies. Richard received a B.A. in History from Harvard University. He is co-author of the book Treasury Management: A Practitioner’s Handbook, John Wiley & Sons, 1980. He is also a Commercial Pilot with Instrument and Multi-Engine ratings.

Samantha Beattie

Chief Operating Officer

Samantha is the Chief Operating Officer for J.P. Morgan Private Capital. She has spent over 13 years in the financial services industry at J.P. Morgan. Prior to this role, Samantha led a global product development and business management team for Wealth Management, working closely with senior leadership on product development and strategy across multiple product areas, including investments and lending products. Samantha previously held strategy and operational roles in the Private Bank in Geneva and London. She also served as a member of the firm’s Corporate Strategy team which drives execution of high priority firm-wide initiatives for the Operating Committee of JPMorgan Chase & Co. Samantha holds a B.A. in Economics from Fordham University.

Evan Sotiriou

Head of Platform

Evan is the Head of Platform of J.P. Morgan Private Capital. His responsibilities include oversight of the finance, operations, portfolio management and legal aspects of J.P. Morgan Private Capital. Evan brings a wealth of operational and portfolio management experience from alternative investment managers in the technology, healthcare and other sectors. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in September 2021, Evan was the Head of Portfolio Management at General Catalyst Group. Prior to this, Evan served as the CFO for OrbiMed Advisors LLC, which invests globally across the healthcare industry. Other roles included Vice President of GSC Group, Managing Director of Clearlake Capital Management, L.P. and CFO for Archer Capital Management, L.P. Evan has served on the board of Scovill Fasteners, Inc., Burke Industries, Inc., Elysium Health, Inc., Photoshelter, Inc. and other companies throughout his career. Evan holds an A.B. in Economics and Statistical Mathematics from Dartmouth College where he graduated Summa Cum Laude Phi Beta Kappa.

Richa Sodhani

Head of Finance and Accounting

Richa is the Head of Finance and Accounting for J.P. Morgan Private Capital. She has spent over 12 years in the financial services industry. Before joining J.P. Morgan, Richa was a Vice President in the Controllers division of Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. where she led the derivatives reporting and balance sheet control management teams. In her derivatives reporting role, Richa managed financial and regulatory filings along with senior management reporting and analytics for a ~$50B derivatives balance sheet. She was part of strategic firmwide initiatives and committees focused on new products and regulations, risk management and process automation. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Richa was part of the Audit division at EY, involved in audits of manufacturing, retail and technology companies. Richa holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Mumbai. She is a CFA Charterholder and a Chartered Accountant.

Joanna Rowe

J.P. Morgan Private Capital Investor Relations

Joanna Rowe is a Vice President in the J.P. Morgan Private Capital Investor Relations team, working across both strategies: Growth Equity Partners and Life Sciences Private Capital. Joanna has been at J.P Morgan for 6 years. Prior to joining the Private Capital Investor Relations team, Joanna worked as the Chief of Staff to the CEO of J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Americas & Head of Global Liquidity, with a focus on driving execution of high priority, strategic objectives of those businesses. Joanna has previously held roles in product development and strategy, in Sydney, Australia.
