JP Morgan JPGE ETF wins 'Most innovative equity ETF' award
J.P. Morgan’s Diversified Return Global Equity ETF (JPGE) picked up the “Most innovative equity ETF – performance” award at the Fund Action ETF Performance Awards ceremony held in New York on February 24, 2016.
The winners were selected using criteria that covered performance and flows, innovation, market reputation and the feedback of clients. According to Fund Action, their ETF Performance Awards are a new way for fund management firms to demonstrate the ability of their ETF products to outperform their peer group over the last 12 months.
"We are pleased to win Fund Action's Innovation Award for Best Equity ETF," said Bob Deutsch, Global Head of ETFs. "Our smart beta equity funds are designed as core holdings that will help investors over the long term, in both up and down markets.”
"The Diversified Return Global Equity ETF as well as our Diversified Return International Equity ETF (ticker: JPIN) have served clients well over the past year by providing strong performance relative to traditional index funds," he said.
J.P. Morgan also finished second in the "Best smart-beta ETF - performance" award category, Deutsch noted.
The ETF awards are judged based on performance and/or asset flows over a 12-month period ending in September 2015. Data from earlier periods could be used to provide context, but wasn’t central to the judging decision.
As well as performance data, judges consider the management firm's and fund's reputation in the marketplace, and give credit to managers who have shown innovation. The awards are only given to firms who can demonstrate solid performance, positive asset flows and real credibility among advisors and investors, Fund Action says.
