## Commentary

**As of **: 06/30/2026

### Topline

Benchmark MSCI EAFE Index

Markets After a more subdued start to the year, the second quarter saw developed market equities rise by a very positive 13.9%, supported by a powerful risk-on rally in April and continued optimism into May, before momentum softened in June as investors paused after record enthusiasm around artificial intelligence (AI). Geopolitics and technology continued to dominate market movements during the quarter. Against this backdrop, growth stocks outperformed value stocks.

Helped Stock selection in consumer discretionary and consumer staples contributed to returns.

Hurt Detractors included stock selection in communication services and financials.

Outlook There has been no shortage of economic and geopolitical events in 2026. Equity markets have remained resilient despite a steady stream of economic and geopolitical developments. The key question for the rest of the year is whether optimism can hold amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, evolving monetary policy and elevated valuations.

### Quarter in Review

The JPMorgan International Equity Fund (I Class Shares) underperformed (on a net of fee basis) the benchmark, the MSCI EAFE Index, for the quarter that ended June 30, 2026.

An underweight position in Kioxia Holdings, a leading Japanese NAND flash memory manufacturer with a strong presence in AI-driven storage solutions, detracted from performance over the period. The company delivered robust financial results, driven by strong AI-related demand and tight supply conditions. The stock saw further rally due to ongoing negotiations for long-term agreements.

An overweight position in Shell, the global integrated energy company, detracted from performance over the period. The stock underperformed due to falling crude oil prices on expected resolution of the geopolitical conflict in the Middle East.

An overweight position in ASML Holding, the Dutch semiconductor equipment manufacturer, contributed to performance over the period. The company benefited from robust demand, capacity expansion and strong financial results, with positive momentum supported by increased guidance and resilient margins.

An overweight position in Infineon Technologies, the European semiconductor manufacturer specializing in automotive, industrial and AI power solutions, contributed to performance over the period. The company delivered solid results with strong revenue growth, improved margins, and robust order momentum, supported by accelerating AI demand and positive cyclical recovery across key markets.

### Looking Ahead

Ongoing geopolitical uncertainty — particularly in the Middle East — alongside evolving monetary policy and elevated valuations will be key swing factors for risk sentiment, though the base case remains gradual de-escalation with manageable spillovers.

Global earnings expectations continue to strengthen, supported by robust AI infrastructure investment and supportive fiscal policy, with 21.3% earnings growth forecast for 2026 and a broader-based expansion across regions and sectors.

In the U.S., the earnings outlook is widening beyond the Magnificent Seven, with the 493 non-“Magnificent Seven” S&P 500 companies expected to grow 24.9% in 2026 versus 11.2% in 2025.

Outside the U.S., earnings momentum remains supportive: emerging markets are forecast 65.5% growth in 2026 (benefiting from the AI supply chain), Japan is forecast 17.8% growth amid governance and efficiency gains, and Europe is expected to grow earnings by 11.8% as fiscal support and stabilizing industries help offset subdued growth.

AI remains a key long-term theme, but with outcomes becoming more differentiated and valuations already optimistic in some areas, bottom-up stock selection should be increasingly important.

With macro volatility likely to persist, the focus remains on identifying high-quality companies where share prices have become disconnected from long-term fundamentals, supported by ongoing AI-led investment and improved opportunities for active selection.
