## Commentary

**As of **: 09/30/2026

### Topline

Benchmark Bloomberg US Aggregate Bond Index

Markets Rates rose strongly while spreads widened.

Helped Security selection in agency mortgages and asset-backed securities (ABS).

Hurt Duration and an underweight to Treasuries.

Outlook We see reasons for optimism and have increased the probability of continued expansion to 85%.

### Quarter in Review

The JPMorgan Core Bond Fund (I Class Shares) underperformed the benchmark, the Bloomberg US Aggregate Bond Index, for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

Agency mortgage-backed security (MBS) selection added to returns. As volatility rose alongside higher rates, our mix of residential and commercial agency MBS outperformed benchmark mortgages.

An overweight to securitized credit, particularly ABS, was beneficial. Within ABS, consumer loans and manufactured housing loans were key drivers.

Better convexity versus the benchmark helped, as “more stable cash-flow” securities outperformed.

An overweight to duration was a headwind amid rising rates. Yields on the 2-, 5- and 10-year bellwether Treasuries increased by 72 basis points (bps), 86 bps and 82 bps, respectively.

An underweight to Treasuries detracted during a period of widening spreads.

Corporate credit security selection was modestly negative during the third quarter.

### Looking Ahead

Against a backdrop of loose fiscal policy, strong private sector balance sheets, CapEx strengthening beyond artificial intelligence (AI) only partially offset by oil above USD 100 per barrel, and accelerating central bank action, we raise the probability of expansion to 85%. We lift above-trend growth to 45% and lower recession probability to 5%.

Recent central bank rate hikes should help stabilize the long end of government bond markets. We expect a couple of rate hikes from here, and then for the Federal Reserve to follow the economic data. Ten-year U.S. Treasury yields could retrace to 4.5%–4.75%, aided by easing geopolitical tensions and with much of the hiking cycle already priced in.

The primary risks: reaccelerating growth that tightens labor markets and stokes broader inflation, and the populist pushback against AI.

In the current environment, we continue to emphasize carry-oriented exposures, including securitized credit for diversified yield and structural enhancement, and selective corporate credit risk with an up-in-quality tilt, while maintaining a modest duration overweight as a hedge against risk assets.

2. This Fund considers financially material environmental, social and governance ("ESG") factors as part of the Fund's investment process. In actively managed assets deemed by J.P. Morgan Asset Management to be ESG integrated under our governance process, we systematically assess financially material ESG factors amongst other factors in our investment decisions with the goals of managing risk and improving long-term returns. ESG integration does not change a strategy's investment objective, exclude specific types of companies or constrain a strategy's investable universe.

3. The 12-Month Rolling Dividend Yield represents the sum of the dividend yield (non-annualized) for the 12 most recent regularly declared income dividends as well as any special income distributions in the intervening period. Dividend yield (non-annualized) is calculated by dividing the dividend per share by the net asset value per share as of the relevant ex-dividend date.

4. Yield to maturity (YTM): is the estimated total return anticipated on a bond or other obligation if the obligation is held until maturity and if all payments are made as scheduled. Gross YTM is calculated by averaging the YTM of each obligation held in the portfolio (including, if any, convertible bonds, preferred securities and derivatives) on a market weighted basis without the deduction of fees and expenses. Unlike SEC Yield, Gross YTM is a representation of the estimated total return of the bonds and other obligations held in the portfolio as of the month-end shown, whereas SEC Yield approximates the current income generated by the obligations held in the portfolio over a historical 30-day period after the deduction of fees and expenses. Unlike SEC Yield, Gross YTM takes into account derivatives. Gross YTM and SEC Yield are not a guarantee nor necessarily indicative of future performance or income generation. Net YTM is calculated in the same way as Gross YTM except that Net YTM reflects the deduction of fund-level fees, expenses and, if applicable, hedging costs. Net YTM is not a guarantee nor necessarily indicative of future performance or income generation. Certain other funds may calculate YTM differently (e.g., certain other funds may include only certain types of derivatives in the calculation of YTM, whereas the YTM calculation for this fund includes all types of derivatives), and such differences could significantly impact the calculation of YTM, and therefore decrease comparability between YTM for this fund and YTM for other funds.

5. The Fund's adviser and/or its affiliates have contractually agreed to waive fees and/or reimburse expenses to the extent Total Annual Fund Operating Expenses (excluding acquired fund fees and expenses, dividend and interest expenses related to short sales, interest, taxes, expenses related to litigation and potential litigation and extraordinary expenses) exceed 0.550% of the average daily net assets. The Fund may invest in one or more money market funds advised by the adviser or its affiliates (affiliated money market funds). The Fund's adviser has contractually agreed to waive fees and/or reimburse expenses in an amount sufficient to offset the fees and expenses of the affiliated money market funds incurred by the Fund because of the Fund's investment in such money market funds. These waivers are in effect through 6/30/2027, at which time the adviser will determine whether to renew or revise it. The difference between net and gross fees includes all applicable fee waivers and expense reimbursements.

9. The Morningstar Medalist RatingTM is a summary expression of Morningstar's forward-looking analysis of investment strategies using a rating scale of Gold, Silver, Bronze, Neutral and Negative. Medalist Ratings indicate which investments Morningstar believes are likely to outperform a relevant index or peer group average on a risk-adjusted basis over time. Products are evaluated on three key pillars (People, Parent, and Process) which, when coupled with fees, forms the basis for Morningstar's conviction in those products' investment merits and determines the Medalist Rating assigned. Products are sorted by expected performance into rating groups defined by their Morningstar Category and their active or passive status. Analyst-covered products are assigned the three pillar ratings based on the analyst's qualitative assessment, subject to the Analyst Rating Committee's oversight, monitored and reevaluated at least every 14 months. Ratings are assigned monthly for vehicles covered either indirectly by analysts or by algorithm.
