This page illustrates the proportion of foreign investors' holdings of domestic Chinese equities as foreign investors' access to the A-share market gradually improved. Meanwhile, this page also tracks the northbound (from Hong Kong to China) and southbound (from China to Hong Kong) fund flows to gauge the investor sentiment of respective markets. On the right, we look at the evolution of A-share inclusion into benchmark indices. While China makes up a major proportion of emerging market GDP growth and market capitalization, its weighting in the MSCI benchmark indices is relatively small. This is expected to change as A-share weightings increase.
