Searching for income has been a popular theme for investors for a long time. Economic trouble which has driven interest rates lower has made encouraged this theme even more so. Yield is still very much an attractive feature for investors by offering another stream of income in the form of interest rate payments from fixed income holdings or dividend yields from equities, just as examples. With this income they can either reinvest it to add to their returns or use it for their own spending. Interest rates are expected to rise in the future as economies normalize after moving out of the issues caused by the pandemic, but yield is still difficult to find in a number of markets.
