In their words (as of )

In April the Bank of England (BoE) kept interest rates on hold at 0.25% and the asset purchase programme unchanged at GBP 435 billion, as expected. Prime minister Theresa May called a surprise snap general election to be held in June, while the BoE shaved 0.1 percentage points off its estimates for 2017 GDP growth, which now stands at 1.9%. CPI, the BOE's inflation target, remained unchanged at 2.3% in March with core CPI falling to 1.8% due to the volatile air fares component. The trust continues to retain its broad diversification across six of the UK's leading AAA-rated sterling liquidity funds, each selected to provide a high level of capital preservation for shareholders. The BoE's current position of looking through inflation in an attempt to support growth remains broadly intact; however, it appears the debate on inflation has intensified. With wage inflation expected to remain muted and the consumer increasingly squeezed, we forecast a slowdown in activity and a central bank in monitoring mode.
