This page looks at carbon dioxide emissions by country. The left-hand chart plots a simple breakdown of global CO₂ emissions across key economies, which shows China as the largest emitter by far. The right-hand chart adjusts emissions on a per capita basis, which paints quite a different picture. Simply looking at total emissions by country may not be a fair reflection of the problem, particularly when many developed markets outsource large amounts of their production requirements to emerging markets.
